Math prof scores “pyrrhic victory” over jogging track crash

A Florida Tech Mathematics professor scored a pyrrhic victory after he sued for a jogging collision and lost roughly $120,000 in legal costs after he rejected a settlement offer for $180,000.

Prof. Vladislav Bukshtynov filed a $1.1 million lawsuit against McMaster University, Flying Angels Running Club, its coach George Kerr and runner Hwang Lee after the professor suffered a shoulder injury when Lee bowled over Bukshtynov on a university indoor track on Dec. 10, 2011.
